A type is a combination of four axes. Here is what each of them means when you are trying to get something across.
Sensing (S)How information comes in
Starts from concrete facts. A single example beginning with “for instance” gives the whole conversation an outline. Stay abstract too long and you leave them unable to agree or disagree.
Thinking (T)How decisions get made
Checks whether it holds together first. This is not a dismissal of feelings — the reasoning simply needs to come first in the order. Attaching a reason is often all it takes for the same request to go through.
Judging (J)How they meet the outside world
Settled things are what put them at ease. Being clear about the deadline and the scope spares them a lot of unnecessary worry. “Whenever suits you” is meant kindly but often just leaves them hanging.
